Did you know that the U.S. has more Spanish speakers than Spain?! (Only Mexico has more Spanish speakers than we do.)
Did you know that according to SIL International's publication, Ethnologue, Spanish is currently the second most spoken language in the world?
Being able to speak more than one language is a highly valuable skill in the 21st century, and Warner is proud to offer Spanish as a world language.
In the Spanish elective, students will begin by learning greetings, letters, and numbers, the vocabulary of the classroom, the calendar, and the weather. As the class continues, students will discuss likes and dislikes, personality traits, school subjects, common classroom objects, and meal times. In the beginning, students will learn words and phrases, and by the time they leave class, they will able to compose simple sentences and paragraphs. Students will also learn about the culture of Spanish speaking countries, and about holidays and traditions such as Mexican Independence Day and the Day of the Dead.
